Assembla Tightens the Screws

So it seems that Assembla has decided that it really needs to make a buck or two (per user per month).  I hate it when a really good free service goes over to the dark side

Good luck to them.   Since installing a free svn server locally is really not rocket science, I’m not sure that the new business model is so smart.  I am willing to pay something to avoid dealing with local administration woes, but looking around a little reveals some free alternatives still remaining.  The article below was helpful.

True, its easier (Google) to find free services (Google) that will host your repository providing the code is open source (Google).  But even for closed source there remain some alternatives. looks like a worthy heir to the throne.
