Is Java coming to the iPhone?

It looks like Apple is relaxing its stance on apps written in other languages.  Its not entirely clear yet, but it may be possible to port Java based apps to the iPhone, and eventually have them sold via the iTunes apps store.  Could this move have been spurred by Android sales?

In particular, we are relaxing all restrictions on the development tools used to create iOS apps, as long as the resulting apps do not download any code. This should give developers the flexibility they want, while preserving the security we need.
